As an organization that promotes inclusivity, diversity and equality, the Korean Film Festival Canada and Arts East-West acknowledge that our activities are situated on the traditional territory of both the Kanien’kehá:ka, (Mohawk) and the Anishinabeg (Algonquin) peoples. This land was historically known as a diplomatic meeting place for First Nations peoples. We recognize the suppression of the histories of non-European peoples as something that negatively impacts our society, and aim to amplify diverse stories and artistic actions on this land as part of our ongoing efforts to challenge racism and discrimination in Western culture. We aim to keep our hearts and ears open to welcome stories that need to be heard and to work towards transformative shifts in perspective and healing for all.
